Hello teachers. Thank you for your answers on my previous question!
I have a new question to ask--please help me out on the following:
Context:
1. The "salary" here means yearly basis or monthly basis? So if he, Arena, who is a Massachusetts state trooper, is getting paid, for example, $5,000 a month, his salary per month woul be $10,000? OR Does this mean if he's getting paid $50,000 a year right now, his salary per year would increase BY $10,000 which means he'll be receiving $60,000 a year?
Thank you for your kind help as always.
Context:
A newspaper story about a town meeting voting to raise the salary of its police chief to $10,000 in hopes of filling the vacant positon prompted Arena to apply for the job even before he knew where that town was.
