I'm looking for a word (or expression) that fits here. I don't know if my examples will make it clear, though.

"There were like 20 people in the room, _____________ three were from New York, one from Washington and the others were foreigners"
"There were four guys in the room, ___________ two from New York and two from Washington"

I think we need some more clarification as to what exactly you're looking for. There are several possibilities.

Also since your two sentences are different, I don't know that you can use any given word or phrase for both examples. That comma in the first example is particularly problematic and limiting.

This is the idea, Skrej. I tried two similar sentences because both make sense in my language, but I don't know if the first one can be filled with another word or words, without a change in meaning.

I don't know if the comma in sentence 1 is necessary. Actually, I don't know if the sentences can be filled.

I wouldn't put anything in those gaps, but small changes are necessary, and you forgot the final full stops (periods).
