am a student ,girl, specialist in english,fourth grade, i hope i can find someone speaks english either a techer or native speaker
not just those anyone who wants to be pen pale friend
am a real friend on whom you can depend

its my honor to have afriend from different culturl than mine
the problem i suffer from in the university is that we depend largely on grammer rather than conversation
i have teaching practice this coming term and am really worried about this

Actually I agree with you that literature is a rather meaningful aspect of life. It has been a means of communication through generations. Regarding language learning, studying literature is surely a useful tool, through which you can get more vocabulary, more structures, and more styles of writing. Literature has two equal sides: content and form. Both are helpful in learning a language.
For me, I really like literature and appreciate it to a further point. That is because it is more than telling a story or composing a couple of poetic lines. It is a complete life. It can be considered the sincerist way of depicting the lifestyle of a particular society. I don't know whether you agree with me or not.

I have been criticized many times for being so stylistic in writing.Once the techer told me that you had to be very simple in writing and be clear.furthermor,she advised me not to use literary values.actually its amazing.I do really agree with you.I do really respect my teacher in the university who teaches me literture.I consider him agreet reference in literture.I hope I can find asuch person again to help me in reading literture.Mr:Almajnooni what do you think if I choose ashort story and discuss it together.

Hi,

You are right Miss Hana. We should respect our teachers and their points of view. Your teacher is nothing wrong when she said that you have to be clear in thought and simple in style. I will tell you why. She told you that because you are writing in a foreign language, and writing is not that easy process. Style must not affect the way you are expressing your thoughts and ideas. We, beginner writres, should focus our attention on what we are trying to convey through our writing. I was thinking the same way you do, but by time it became clear to me that meaning is much important than form. I don't mean that form or style is an unneccessary thing. Nay, it has an important function since it is the vehicle through which our ideas can be expressed. What I would like to say is this: The day you feel you are able to convey your idea clearly, use suitable stylistic expressions relatively, and in the way that helps conveying your idea. I am not sure if I am right or not.

Regarding your request, I don't mind if you choose a short story to be discussed. It will be an effective way that helps both of us learn more vocabulary, word structures, writing styles, etc. But, don't forget to give me a notice when you bring one here.
