What are the disadvantage and advantage of living in the city?
I was born in the city and have never lived anywhere else except Vancouver. I hate living in the countryside because I hate the smell of cows and horses. The disadvantage of living in the city is that houses tend to be very expensive and small. The advantage is that it is very convenient for people who go shopping all the time.
In the city, houses are very expensive and small. For example, houses in Langley are around 300,000 dollars and are three times larger than houses in East Vancouver. A small house in East Vancouver cost 500,000 dollars. Many young families have trouble buying their own house in Vancouver. In addition, people live very close together. For instance, my house is almost touching my neighbor’s house. My friend, who lives in the countryside, says that houses are very far apart, and the community is very small. Thus, he knows everyone in his community. I only know the people living next door and have no clue of the people living in the house in front of mine.
I enjoy going shopping for clothes and food. I go to Metrotown and Richmond center two times a week. I live very close to Metrotown and East First Avenue Mall. Thus, I buy and eat fresh fruits, vegetables, and meat everyday because grocery shopping is very convenient. The last time, my friend went shopping was three months ago. He lives in the countryside and it takes him to drive an hour to a mall. He says that it is a waste of time, and he rather stay home. Unlike the city, there are no buses in the countryside. I have a bus stop in front of my house and the bus arrives every five minute. Without a car, transportation is a major problem in the countryside.
The countryside is not suitable for me. I enjoy living in a big city such as Vancouver. I like living in a large community. Going shopping and buying clothes are my favorite hobbies. Living in the countryside would change all my current habits and living style.
I need someone to edit my grammar. Please pay attention to verb tense, subject verb agreement and comma mistakes. I tend to make a lot of those mistakes =(.
thanks for the editing
