I don't understand the exact meaning of this key word transformation, that is to say, the meaning of 'none the... for...'

the tourists were unharmed after the train crash
NONE
the turists were none the worse for their experience in the train crash

The tourists were (none the worse) for their experience in the train crash.

It is an idiom and means that they were not harmed at all, in spite of the experience of being a a train crash.
