Mcqueen says to Hercule Poirot about his boss, Ratchell:

He was in antiques. He had no qualification for it, not the eye or the languages. Truth is, he had no head for business, accounting...none of it.

What is the meaning of "not the eye"?

He was not able to judge the authenticity or the value of antiques by looking at them. Some things may be old and they may be valuable, but are difficult to sell for one reason or another. It takes an experienced "eye" to pick out things that can be sold quickly and for a profit.
