Could you please have a look at the sentence to check if it sounds OK? I would appreciate it very much :)

The basis of this profile is the demand to nurture BSc Management students who would have a deep knowledge of general laws and regularities of the world economy and ... <description of other competences to be developed>.

I wonder if the word ‘nurture’ really fits the sentence. I doubt that ‘train’ or ‘prepare’ would be better. Could you please help with the verb that would sound natural in this context?

P.S. By 'profile' i mean the profile of study

Hi,

Perhaps 'support' would work here?

Best wishes,

Sue

Many thanks for your help! Will this sentence make more sense: This profile was developed to respond to the need to support/train/give training to students who would have a deep knowledge of general laws of the world economy ... ? Could you please reply once again if in this revised sentence the verbs 'support' or 'train' make sense?

I still don't know what you mean by profile but I think it would be much better to say "respond to the need to train students". There is no need to add more words when they only make things less comprehensible.
