What does "of" mean in this sentence:

"What do I want of variety in the short time I have to spend here?"

The sentence seems to mean:
"What is the use of variety for me ... ?" (Rethorical question: I have no use for variety...) or something of the sort, but I don't undestand the meanig of "of" here.

That's what it means to me- 'What use is variety...' ;-)
