I made an apology to my foreign teacher for not keeping an appointment and made an explanation:
On account of the fact that my little dog had an accident on our way home, I had to take it to the pet clinic at once, or it will probably become disabled.

Please help me check the sentence and make it more natural. Thank you.

What is a "foreign teacher"? A teacher who teaches you a foreign language? A teacher who happens to be from a foreign country?

"On account of the fact that" isn't wrong but it's a bit over the top. I wouldn't bother with that start at all:

My little dog was involved in an accident on our way home and I had to take him/her to the vets straight away or he might have been permanently disabled.

Replace the words "On account of the fact that . . . " with the single word "Because . . . "
