Hi,

Which one is OK to use 'in fire' or 'on fire'? For example,

'The car was burning in/on fire.'

Both sound OK to me but cannot make sure of it.

Thanks.

Say either 'The car was burning' or 'The car was on fire'.

It's always incorrect to say 'in fire', though you can say 'We lost everything in the fire'.
