On probation means you're 'actually undergoing probation' - continuous, right?

This example is given by the Cambridge dictionaries online:

He served a year in prison and was then let out on probation.

It means the probation is finished here?

So, on probation can mean
1) during probation
2) probation completed?

Thanks

No, it only means he's undergoing 'probation'.

'Let out' just means released from prison.
