Would it be correct to say: "I'll do this on the way" in the the sense of "I'll do this while progressing in some other thing, improvising, without having time or wanting to face it calmly?"

But taking into account my correction, do you still think that "on the way" is not for "sobre la marcha"? Very grateful for your patience and attention.

"on the way" is more like "de camino". "sobre la marcha" is more like "along the way" or "as one goes along", when it means "improvisadamente". It's translated simply for "as" when it means "a medida que": "As you grow older your hair falls out".
