Hello,
Is there any difference in the meaning of the two following sentences?
(To be clear, "the" in the first sentence does not mean that the imputation methods have already been mentioned in the text, but that the authors means "one of the existing imputation methods".)
I feel that 1) kind of emphasizes that there is a group of imputation methods. It follows also from 2) (we have "an imputation method", so there must be more than one such method), but without such emphasis. Does what I feel make sense?
Thanks,
nyggus
