hello, can someone tell me why "leave out"?

And leaving out in the end, the even cheaper, almost used feeling of finding a few bucks on a table

Leaving is equivalent to 'going out' and that is not the intended meaning of the sentence. The previous sentence or paragraph would have provided the clue: 'leaving out' here is equivalent to avoiding, missing, overlooking. Leaving out is to exclude.:)
