only good for making money

Are both versions OK and if not, how can I improve them?

1 Europe is only good for making money. Everything else is much more fun in the Philippines.
2 The only thing Europe is a good place for is to make money. All the rest is much more fun in the Philippines.

They're grammatical, but I've never made much money in Europe.

It's rarely appropriate/sensible to make such sweeping generalisations about entire continents/countries.
