How to express the idea that someone has the luck with the opposite sex? Is the following wording acceptable?
1. He is popular with girls.
2. She is popular with boys.

Yes, but delete 'the' before 'luck'.

Don't forget the other possibilities:

He is popular with boys.
She is popular with girls.
He/she is popular with both boys and girls.

Remember also that, without context, "popular with" can simply mean that the person makes friends with a lot of people of that sex.
