How can I describe a person who are English native speakers but his parents or grandparents come from other countries such as Italy? Can I say like this?


John was born in USA and orginate from Italy.

If you had to ask this question, it would probably be something like "Where did your family come from originally?" or "Where did your ancestors live?"
