In "I enjoyed having met him," or "I enjoyed having been met by her," is "having" a gerund, or must one label the whole verb phrases "having met" and "having been met" as gerunds?:?: Thanks. If you can provide not only an answer with a reason but also a link that explains this, all the better. All the links I have found so far only handle the present active forms. Thanks.

'having met' is sometimes called the perfect gerund, also the past gerund. However, in your examples I would use 'meeting' and 'being met'.
