Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

Sidelines and end lines are out of bounds.

.out of bounds = beyond established limits, breaking the rules (a restricted area, a closed area)

(This expression alludes to the boundaries of the playing area in numerous sports and to the rules applying to them.)

Thanks for your efforts.

Regards,

V.
