Hello, teachers.
Here are the sentences:

1. I set out four hours before the departure but still was overdue for the plane because of the traffic jams.
2. I set out four hours before the departure but still was late for the plane because of the traffic jams.
3. I set out four hours before the departure but didn't still make it in time for the plane because of the traffic jams.

Please, tell me how I can better express the idea.

3 is OK if you swap the order of "didn't" and "still".
