Hi there,

I don't know how to use 'partake' in a humourous way as stated in a dictionary. Could you help?

old-fashioned or humorous to eat or drink
Would you care to partake of a little wine with us?

tks

Your suggested sentence is fine. I would say that I have never heard of partake being particularly "humorous" - to me, it is simply old-fashioned. I guess I have probably said it when I'm trying to be "posh", so I suppose that could be classed as humorous.

"I have some really nice wine at home. Would you like to come to my place and partake?"
