Hi teachers and experts,

What is the difference between the following sentences?

#1 Arriving at the hotel, he went to bed at once.

#2 Having arrived at the hotel, he went to bed at once.

Thanks a lot.

In the first you are still in the process of ariving, whereas in the second you have already arrived. ;-)
