Hello everyone,

I have a few questions regarding passive constructions.
1.) Is this example in passive voice: " the first person to be convicted" or it is just a non-finite phrase?
2.) Is this passive voice: "a meeting with collegues the day before in which it was revealed that..." or it is just existential sentence/clause?
3.) Is this passive construction: "though his movie appears to be more gratified by the spectacle than any other" ?
4.) Is this passive construction: "British hopes, largerly invested in Les Miserables, recieved..." ?
5.) Is this passive construction: "four staff being fired and others being suspended" ?

I would really appreciate some help here since I am very confused by these examples.

Thank you all in advance,
Miss I

Welcome to the forum, Miss I. One at a time:

This is a phrase containing a non-finite verbal construction - a passive infinitive.
