I am wondering if my sentences are grammatically correct.

Peter was on guard duty when the explosion at the ammunition depot happened. The blast was so strong that it threw him into the air. It was a miracle that he was unhurt.

(better)...that he was not hurt. Otherwise, they are fine.

"... that he was unhurt" works for me.

To me, "not hurt" is more common than "unhurt" but he used it correctly.
