I am wondering if my sentences are grammatically correct.

Peter was the only one in the school who wore a cowboy hat and cowboy boots. Many girls had a crush on him and swarmed around him as if he were a rock star.

The second sentence means many girls had a crush on him and many girls swarmed around him. Although that's logical, I think you mean that the girls who had a crush on him were the ones who swarmed around him. You need a semicolon or two sentences to express that thought.
