Adverbs are slippery, and they can pop up in many different places in a sentence. Usually, however, when an adverb (like "also"), an auxiliary verb (like "have"), and a main verb (like "appeared") are present, the adverb fits most comfortably between the auxiliary verb and the main verb — "...have also appeared "
