2-She has gone on writing novel after novel for three years

The two sentences have keyword to present perfect continuous
the first---- all+day
the second ----- for + 3 years
Why is the first sentence not - has gone on raining?

Please help me I can't understand that. ):

There is no 'by' in the sentences in your first example. The first sentence clearly establishes that the speaker is talking about the past.
