Hi,

Can someone explain the meaning of this statement especially the phrasal verb "put out" in this sense?

I am afraid I would have been more put out about this experience.

In this context either: "I would have been mildly exasperated or annoyed" or "I would have been inconvenienced".

It needs more context to be totally sure what the phrase means. There are other possible meanings.

Thanks for your quick response. Here is a full paragraph in which this statement was used. Perhaps this will help you to make out exact meaning.

"When [COMPANY] mishandles an order, it does a bang-up job of it! Under the awful circumstances involved in your order No. [NUMBER]. I think your letter was a classic indication of patience and understanding. I am afraid I would have been more put out about this experience."

Yes! - I would have been more exasperated - you can gather that from the previous reference to the other person having shown patience in their letter.
