I have two sentences below:

1) As Jane and I are going to England by car, why do not you join us?

2) How about going to England with Jane and me since we are taking the car?

number one and number two are similar sentences. what I want to learn is, function of as nad since. especially I could not understand what these sentences mention about? what is the function of as nad since?

note: is it correct my sentences above grammatically?

In this case it has the following meaning: We are going to England. Take advantage of this and go with us.
Another example:
As/since I am going to the city center I can lift you.

What is the function of as and since? The two words are very similar to 'because'. Look up "as" and "since" in a dictionary, dictionary.com for example, and you will learn more about those two words.


Since you are asking about as and since, it is best to highlight those words by putting them in quotation marks or using italics.

Are my sentences above grammatically correct?
