The other day I was running my eyes over an article about causes of headaches, and then I came across an odd-looking sentence, at leat it is quite odd to me. "They point out to malfunctioning chemicals, such as serotonin, whose job it is to send messages to regulate the blood vessels in the brain" I am not very good at Grammar, If I was supposed to elaborate such a sentence I would drop the pronoun 'it'. I don't know, but for some reason or other the it does not make any sense to me, maybe because I view "whose job' as having a subject function.
Can you please shed some light ?
Thanks a lot.
