Please let me know whether the sentebce :
"The ship sails on the sea " or
T"he ship sails in the sea" is correct

The ship sails on the sea. 'In the sea' (unless the ship sank) implies 'in deep waters': "There are many types of fish living in the sea".
*Not a teacher.
