I know that PRESENT PERFECT is used to express an action happened at an unspecified time before now, so if I would like to ask a person,

"ARE YOU MARRIED?" OR "HAVE YOU MARRIED?"

Which is correct?

Pat: Are you married, Max?
Max: Yes, I am. What about you, Pat? Are you married?
Pat: No, I'm not. How long have you been married for, Max?
Max: I have been married for 3 years. :D

All the best, :D
