Dear experts, could you tell which of the two sentences below is gramatically correct, if any:

1. It has been found out that only around 22% of all people who are in continued contact with the tuberculosis bacteria get infected.

2. It has been found out that only around 22% of all people who have been in continued contact with the tuberculosis bacteria have got infected.

continued contact - I'd use something like prolonged contact.
the tuberculosis bacteria- I'd use the tuberculosis bacterium or tuberculosis bacteria (I don't know if there is just one kind or more, but the + plural without further context sounds too specific to me.)

Like Tdol, I would prefer tuberculosis bacteria (without the).

As a non-teacher I prefer #1.

"Got infected" doesn't ring well to my American ear, cause we'd use "gotten infected." But the first sentence is the best anyway.
