I am confused about the words which shows collection like army, police. how they will be treated means which auxualiry verb will they take.


Army do----------------- army does
Army is ----------------- army are
Army has---------------- army have


Police do--------------- police does
Police is--------------- police are
police has-------------- police have



Which one is correct. please explains theses collective nouns.

In British English, 'army' can be followed by either a singular or a plural verb.
The word 'police' is always followed by a plural verb.
