1. She is eligible for president. -is it ok?

Alice: What are the roles she is eligible for?
Bob: She is eligible for (the role of) president.

2. She is eligible for (the) presidency.
- Is it ok to omit "the"?

Both when deciding if a person has the chance to become president.

- Is it ok to omit "the"? I'd keep it, but I don't think anyone would flinch if you left it out.

Both refer to deciding if a person has the chance to become president.

Let's see if there are other opinions.

Sentence 1 is incorrect without the role of.

The definite article is, uh, definitely required in sentence 2.
