6. Mr Brown would do it as soon as not.
7. Is this the village in which your grandpa was once hidden?

1.Don’t I know you from somewhere? Okay
2.Our efforts were all wasted. Okay
3. Our effort was all wasted. Okay
4. Once he straightened out his ideas, he became cheerful again. I'm not sure what you mean by "straightened out his ideas." Can you say this another way?
5.Keep fit and lead a reasonable and regular life. Grammatically okay, but not what we would expect to hear. Keep fit and lead a life of moderation, perhaps?
6. Mr Brown would do it as soon as not. What is it you mean to say? He would rather do it than not? He doesn't mind doing it?
7.Is this the village in which your grandpa was once hidden? This could make sense, if, for example, the grandfather was a Jew hidden during WWII. Is that the type of thing you have in mind?
8. this the village where your grandpa was once hidden? Same comment

Most are okay. A few questions on some of them.

You still don't know why ... what?

I'm not sure of your intended meaning with #6.
