Hi

Is it ok to say, 'In Wing Chung you punch with a vertical fist, while in traditional boxing you do that with a horizontal fist'?

I think you've phrased your question wrongly. Do you mean "… while in traditional boxing you do that with a horizontal fist"?

Note: "a vertical fist", "a horizontal fist".

Exactly! A horizontal fist is used in traditional boxing. Thank you!
I deliberately left out the article as I thought that sentence means fist as a general notion.
Apart from that and the article, is it ok?

The English is OK, although I think it would be more natural to say "… while in traditional boxing you do it with a horizontal fist".
