Hello All,

Is it ok to use a comma before a name.

Ex:

1. Please come here, John.

2. I am glad to hear that, John.

Thank you,
Titus Andrews

Good morning, Mr. Andrews.

(1) You are correct: "good" writing requires a comma to set

off a name.

John, come here.

Come here, John.

Oh, John, you must be kidding.

I love you, John.

By the way, John, did you see that movie on TV last night?

Have a nice day, Mr. Andrews.
