Hello everybody!
I'd like to receive help with my homework. I have been learning English for quite a long time but I still make mistakes. Could anybody please help mi with it?
Subject:
Imagine you are a flight attendant on a plane fraught with problems. Answer the following questions.
1. What would you do if a passenger behaved oddly?
I'd try to calm him down. I'd ask him about the reason of his strange behaviour. I'd also ask if there was anything I could help him with. I'd also offer him something to drink - maybe a glass of water. I think that a conversation would be a good idea and do a lot of good. During a conversation he would express his emotions and problems.
2. How would you calm down people while extreme situation?
I'd try to calm them down and explain why the situation was extreme . They then would know what was happening and that knowledge would calm them down. I think that it would also be a good idea to find some activities for the passengers. I would also assure them that the situation is in the steady hands of the pilots and that they control the situation.
If the truth was too terrible, I would tell far enough to calm them down so that they could feel informed.
3. What qualities should a flight attendant have?
I think that a flight attendant should be well-bred and talk and behave in a polite way. They should have a positive attitude to people and be ready to help or serve them. Be ready to answer their questions . In a nutshell, he should be helpful and show his willingness to help other people by his appearance, smile and cheerfulness.
[4. What are the advantages and disadvantages of working in this position.
I believe that advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. You have a unique opportunity to fly from one place to another and experience the flight itself. You also have a unique opportunity to make good use of your speaking skills in English.
As for disadvantages, there might occur a malfunction in the engine and the plane could crash in the middle of the ocean. What is more a plane can be hijacked, but I believe that since September 11 security at airports has been tight. There are a lot of security devices that are designed to find if passengers carry dangerous objects or explosive devices on the plane. Security guards are trained to prevent any kind of attempting at hijacking a plane.
