please help me... which one is correct to use in the following sentence.

It became a question of survival /survive/surviving with my decency from this point onwards.

the correct word is 'surviving'...but what actually do you want to say when you use the word 'decency'?

a person wants to surviva but in a decent way...
proper way or with her honour... with her morality

one of them... but which one fits better I don't know

I try to explain it again .. perhaps this time it will be better

she wants to survive ... but ıt shouldn't cost her to loose her decency or her morality

I don't know how formal or literary you wish this sentence to be. Can you quote two or three sentences leading up to this sentence?
Also, frankly, what might happen to her in this story that would mean her 'decency' didn't survive.
