Hi!

Would you be so kind and tell me what is the question tag for the following sentence?

Let me help you with your homework, ...... ?

In my opinion, the answer should be will you, although I`m not sure. I read in a grammar book that the answer is shall I and I find it merely inappropriate. Why shall I? It seems a little bit ironic, or am I wrong? I might be wrong that`s why I ask for your advice.

Thank you very much in advance.

If you're asking for their consent, then will you works, but if you're making an offer, then shall I works IMO.

Hi Richard!
And what about an exam? No other idea is given so as to make a choice. What shall I choose?
Thank you again.

It would not be a very good question for an exam, and I am not very keen on either answer- I'd use Can I help for the first and Shall I help for the second and no tag. If I had to put something in, I would go for will you.

Thank you so much again. That`s my choice, too.
