"question".

"Doubt" would mean that what the lesson taught might not be true.

In English, the word doubt has an implied meaning of mistrust. We always use question in situations such as the ones in your post. We usually use doubt in situations like these:

I doubt that he will finish his work on time.
They have doubts about your honesty.
We have no doubt that he will do what he said he would.
