Hello professor,

I have a question about when I should use "to" and when I should use "for". For example which is correct of these two expressions?

I bought a car for her
I bought a car to her

or

It is important for me
It is important to me

I bought a car for her :tick: I bought a car to give to her OR I bought a car on her behalf.
I bought a car to her :cross: BUT "I brought a car to her" = I transported/drove a car to her

It is important for me :tick: "for me" = "Getting this job is important for me" >> Getting this job affects my future or my expectations or my career.
It is important to me :tick: "to me" = "It is important to me that you read this letter" >> It matters to me personally that you read this letter.
