[General] Questions about a few sentences

I am currently in Korea, and I have a few sentences I find akward for me. Unfortuanately, my English teacher doesn't seem to have the answers for me. Could I please get some explainations about them?

"I hate the situation like this."
- I don't know why, but "the situation" feels strange in this sentence. Is it okay to use "the situation"? I feel that "situations" would be much better.

"He was loved by his students, but his system was not accepted in his own time." changed into "He was loved by his system, but they did not accept his system."
- Doesn't the second sentence mean that students did not accept his system? These two sentences doesn't seem to mean the same for me.

“She decided to help the poor after she had surprised to see the poor people of London.”
- I wrote that "she had been surprised", but my english teacher wrote "she had surprised". Doesn't "she had surprised" mean that she has given people a surprise?

"I don't enjoy the game at all."
- "the game" seems weird to me, I prefer "this game" more. Is it OK if I write "the game"?

However, I typed the second question wrong
It was "He was loved by his students, but his system was not accepted in his own time." changed into "He was loved by his students, but they did not accept his system."
I am still curious if these two sentences have the same meaning.
