Hi!
I am French and what I can tell is that none of the words you've proposed are french. I thinks they're more referring to the jewish religion and to some of their traditions. Good luck for your further reading... French Emma.

Ver gerharget is also a Yiddish expression meaning "Drop dead!" or "Get killed!"

In this link you'll find an Israelian poster confirming this translation:

ver gerharget (Hebrew to English translation glossary) Art/Literary

By the way, the surname of the novel's protagonist, Kravitz, suggests that he is more likely to use Yiddish expressions than French ones!

Fershtunkene tuchos-head sounds half German-half English (no French, Whisper, sorry!), maybe it's Yiddish as well.

In this link there's a "colloquial" interpretation of its meaning: "Poop head"

And last of all, Zeyda. I have only seen this word used as a name of person or as a surname (Probably of Hebraic origin? It ressembles to the Hebrew name Zelda very much).
