When quoting a whole sentence do you still use the normal punctuation?
For example,
The sentence: He stood still.
when quoted would it look like this;
In the simple sentence, "He stood still." the author is suggesting that...
or;
In the simple sentence, "he stood still" the author is suggesting that...
For example,
