First' I would like to thank claude for his style and good understanding.

Second' I have said my point of view about religion in a polite way. It is up to everyone to accept or not.I didn't complel anyone to read my subject.Everyone in this forum has his own mind to choose what is good or what is bad.
I think there isn't freedom of opinion in this forum.
Locking the thread without reasonible reasons isn't a good way.
I'm not telling you what to do.

Please .Don't wage a war upon me.I want areasonible answer Or you can omit.

Why is it so difficult to understand that this forum is aimed to learn English,
simply to discuss grammar and vocabulary issues ?

It is a tricky issue, but we have seen debates turn into arguments in forums; it is a very common occurence. The primary objective of the forum is to create and area to discuss issues related to English and learning it. We take a broad approach, but we have seen trouble flaring up in another thread as well.

Religion and politics are two very sensitive questions and our forum rules are against them as subjects because they do cause rows. No one is saying that your posts were in any way rude or ill-intentioned, but a thread specifically on the topic of religion is a thread that does stand a high probability of creating trouble as it grows and involves more people. As threads get longer, they become harder to manage as more and more posters become involved.

What we did by closing the thread was to try to prevent problems for later. No war is being waged on you at all, but we have seen civilised discussions get out of hand, which then leads to bad feeling and rows.

:hi:

PS On the issue of freedom of speech, I definitely agree that it is not fully available. There are many restrictions on freedom of speech. Here's the most extreme example. Last week, someone attempted to post a link to some pornographic sites. :2gunfire: We deleted all trace of the link immediately. There was no question to us of allowing that person any freedom of speech. I doubt very much that you would disagree with our position on the presence of pornography on an educational site. There are also trolls, characters who go around the internet picking fights in forums and causing trouble. We have a zero tolerence policy towards them as well. It's a question of trying to maintain a balance.

I don't mind you continuing to discuss language topics in this forum. In fact, we all very much enjoy helping you and all our other members and visitors with learning English.

Politics and religion do not belong here in any shape or form.

You agreed to abide by the rules of this forum when you signed up, so please respect our decision.

I agree with the positions of Red and TDOL on this matter. There are thousands of forums on the Internet. Some deal primarily with politics; some deal primarily with religion. Others deal with gardening, certain medical conditions, computer games, automobiles, etc. This forum is for discussions about the English language. You have expressed concerns about freedom, but there are other freedoms to consider. The owners of a forum have the freedom to decide what the subject area will be. Please respect their wishes.
