regarding/about

I am confused when to use about and regarding in a sentence.

Is there any meaning difference between these two? Please explain.

I am bringing your attention about this situation.

The first sentence is fine. The second is grammatically incorrect.

"I am concerned about this situation" - I am concerned with regard to this situation

"I would like to bring this situation to your attention" - I want you to consider this situation seems to be what you intend in your second sentence
