Context: Discussing/debating with friends in a forum. Not sure should use was or were in my sentence. Here it is.

Sentence: "And no member of a "community" were/was involved in it."

My question/doubt: What would be the right verb in this sentence were or was ? Please tell with reasons.

Thanks

'Was' is correct. 'No member' is singular.
Check this thread out, there's some additional information there.
