In the future, the ship will probably be repainted in the ship-owner’s traditional colours.


Is the above sentence properly formulated or should I write: In the future, the ship will probably be painted over in the ship-owner’s traditional colours.


Your opinion would be highly apreciated.

Repainted is the right word. We use "painted over" when we're covering something up: I painted over the graffiti.
